Advanced Life Support (ALS) Training for Nurses and Midwifes in Australia/ New Zealand
Gaining an Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualification is a great skill asset for any clinician to have, especially those working rurally, in a remote setting, within critical care and/or within a senior nursing/midwifery role.

There are two main options within Australia, you can get accredited by the ACCCN or the ARC.
In reality, both offer the same thing, derived from the same evidence based advanced life saving guidelines.
Check with your employer/future employer with what training your organisation prefers.
Either way - both are great courses and equip you with the skills and knowledge to deliver safe, high quality emergency healthcare to your patients.

ARC - Australian Resuscitation Council
The ARC offers a 1 day Advanced Life Support Level 1 training course - suitable for clinicians seeking to grow their skills and knowledge in ALS. This is a great starting point for most people.
Additionally, they offer a 2-day ALS2 program, which is more advanced for critical care clinicians and those in high acuity critical care settings/roles.
